Mike Huckabee, former governor of Arkansas and a Republican candidate for president, will be at the “Trunk or Treat” Saturday at 5 pm at Gospel Open Bible Church. “Trunk or Treat” lasts until 6 pm; it is unknown how long Huckabee plans to stay.
Huckabee’s visit is one of a four-day nine-community campaign swing through Iowa that includes pheasants hunting Saturday morning at a Grassley for Senate reception at a hunt club in Adel and pheasant hunting Sunday with Rep Steve King in Akron.
Other stops include Missouri Valley, Harlan, Audubon, Carroll, and Ida Grove. He’ll speak twice Saturday afternoon in Des Moines – at the Republican Party of Iowa’s Growth and Opportunity Event at the Varied Industries Building at the Iowa State Fairgrounds and at the Caffeinated Thoughts conference at the Ramada Inn on Merle Hay Road.
Huckabee is not scheduled to speak in Jefferson. This is his second campaign visit; the first was July 30 at Pizza Ranch.
